Bengaluru: In a move to enhance security and streamline access, the Karnataka government has decided to introduce an online pass system for entry into the Vidhana Soudha, the state legislature complex. The new system will utilize QR codes for verification, ensuring a more secure and efficient process.

Gearing Up for Enhanced Security

Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara inspected the newly installed metal detectors and bag scanners at the Vidhana Soudha’s entry gates and announced the implementation of the online pass system. He said that the high-quality equipment will facilitate the detection of suspicious items.

Streamlined Access and Enhanced Security

Under the new system, individuals seeking entry to the Vidhana Soudha will need to apply for an online pass. Upon successful verification of the QR code generated through the online application, visitors will be granted access. The QR codes will be scanned by police security personnel at the entry gates.

The Home Minister also outlined additional security measures being implemented at the Vidhana Soudha. The general public will enter through the East Gate, while dignitaries will have access through the West Gate.

Public visitors can obtain online passes and access the Vidhana Soudha between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM.

How to Obtain an Online Pass

To obtain an online pass for the Vidhana Soudha

  1. Download the Karnataka One App: Individuals seeking a pass must download the Karnataka One App on their Android mobile devices.
  2. Register and Verify: Register your mobile number, enter the OTP, and open the app.
  3. Provide Personal Information: Fill in the required details, including your name, address, and Aadhaar number.
  4. Select Destination: Choose either Vidhana Soudha or Vikas Soudha as your destination.
  5. Receive QR Code: Upon verification of your information, officials will send you a QR code scanner link.
  6. Present QR Code for Entry: Present the QR code to the police security personnel at the entry gate. Successful scanning will grant you access.

The implementation of the online pass system and enhanced security measures is aimed at streamlining visitor access, strengthening security protocols, and ensuring the safety of the Vidhana Soudha complex.
