Bengaluru: The state government reconstituted the anti-land grabbing committee, which was earlier headed by JD(S) MLA A T Ramaswamy and had been non-functional for the past 11 years. As per the decision taken during the state Cabinet meeting held yesterday, Virajpet MLA K G Bopaiah will head this revived committee. The public can approach this committee to raise issues about revenue land grabbing.
A T Ramaswamy, Araga Jnanendra, S R Vishwanath, Rajashekar Basavaraja Patil and Narasimha Nayak are the other members of the committee, which will work towards clearing government land encroachment.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal to extend the tenure of the Special Task Force (STF) that is investigating the state mining scam.
