Bengaluru: Banasavadi police celebrated the International Women’s Day in a unique way. For a few hours, the station was run by a visually challenged girl student from St. Joseph’s college in the city.
The credit of planning this unique progrrammes goes to station inspector H Jayaraj, who organised the event to honor the exceptional talent of the girl.
TM Saphna, a BA student of the St Joseph’s college, who is visually impaired by birth was received with traditional salutes in the station when she arrived in uniform with three stars, in the station vehicle.
She was handed over the baton by the inspector and she sat on the inspector’s chair. She then interacted with the staff and asked questions to the staff on how they function and execute the police duty .
Saphna, who originally hails from Kerala secured 91% in the SSLC examination. She studied her SSLC at Satyaseva school in Nagawara. In the II PUC she secured 89% at Jyothi PU college. Now she is pursuing her BA degree at the St. Joseph’s college.
Station PSIs including N Murali, BS Ramadevi, Sangeeetha and Dhanajay were present.
At the end of the event Saphna thanked police staff for their kind gesture.
Inspector Jayarraj informed that the event was organised to honor the exceptional talent of the Saphna who is tiding against the wave in life.
