Bengaluru: In a big relief to the aspiring candidates who were disturbed by the allegations of corruption in the appointment process, the state government revoked the appointment powers of the state universities. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will take up this process instead.
According to the new proposal mooted by the state higher education department, henceforth all the universities need to approach the KEA for the appointment of professors, associate professors and assistant professors. The appointment will be done based on the marks scored by the students in the written test followed by an interview. The interview will account for just 12.5 out of 100 marks.
The state government has also directed the KEA to video record the entire interview process and the interview report needs to be published on the same day.
