Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has said water samples from Bengaluru will be collected and analysed at the Central Water Testing Laboratory to monitor water quality.
According to the BWSSB, chlorination plants provided in the distribution system are being maintained by a company and the residual chlorine is being maintained at 0.2 ppm.
This is to prevent water contamination and spread of gastroenteritis during the summer months.
The existing 1,600 borewell mini water tanks had been cleaned to ensure quality. Tenders have been finalised for procurement of a bigger diametre pipe for 15,000 running metres through central stores. That apart, to ensure that borewell complaints are attended to quickly, action has been initiated for the procurement of suitable submersible pump sets.
