Bengaluru: It seems former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is all set to kick start several initiatives at a time to regain the lost glory of Janata Dal Secular. After proposing a separate Cab app to help the vast number of cab drivers to take on cab aggregator service providers like Ola and Uber, now JD(S) is planning to launch two separate initiatives to win the hearts of people.
One of the initiatives is launching Indira Canteen like eateries across the state to woo the poor. This idea is the brainchild of party MLC TA Sharavana. According to the sources, few party leaders want to join hands with local hotel owners to provide subsidised food which is expected to boost the image of HDK as man of masses.
Another project in the pipeline is massive online campaign using the IT cell of the party to boost the presence of party on virtual media, which is successfully used by BJP in several state assembly elections in recent days. According to the sources, the party has already launched around 12 facebook groups in the name of HDK beside hundreds of Whats app groups.
“Our vision is creating party team in all the 224 constituencies before the end of this year to gear up the party cadre for 2018 state assembly election,” said a member of IT Wing of the JD(S).
Meanwhile, the JD(S), which is facing series of poll debacles in South Karnataka due to the rebel activities, is now concentrating upon North Karnataka region. According to party leaders, the party wants to win at least 50 seats from North and Hyderbad Karnataka region.
