Bengaluru: After the successful launch of the first-ever corporate train service between New Delhi and Lucknow – Tejas Express – the Railways is all set for such an experiment even in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters, Union Minister of State Railways Suresh Angadi informed that, if any operator comes forward, the railways are open to considering their proposal.
“We are ready for such proposals. The Tejas Express is a big success and in Karnataka, there are many such routes which are open for corporate services,” he stated.
“Let the companies submit their proposals. We will consider them before taking any decision,” he said.
Meanwhile, Angadi, a four-time MP from Belagavi, also expressed confidence that the Central Government will release more compensation to the state in the coming days. “Rs 1,200 crore is just the interim compensation. I am confident that more relief amount will be released once the loss estimation is finalised,” he assured.
