What the Zerodha Founder Thinks of Bangalore People

The wealthy businessman Nikhil Kamath, who is located in Bengaluru, recently discussed why he thinks the nation’s startup hub is the best. The co-founder of Zerodha, in his podcast WTF, emphasized the unique features of certain major cities and how Bengaluru surpasses all of them in spite of bad roads and traffic congestion.

According to Kamath, the people in this city are the only thing that make it unique. “The big, big differentiator at the end of the day– scr** all the roads, the traffic… those things don’t matter — the people of Bengaluru are second to none (because of) the love they have for the city, how nice they are as people.”

He continued by enumerating the things that most cities are known for: Hyderabad is known for its biriyani, Bombay for its hustling culture and “good-looking people,” Delhi for “people who have a lot of money and they know it,” and Bengaluru for its kind people. Kamath continued, saying he thinks the people in the city are friendly, “normal,” modest, and subtle.

Nikhil Kamath continued by saying that Bengaluru has better access to talent than any other city in the globe, particularly for startups. “If you have to build something, if you have to start a company, the access to talent at the cost you get in Bengaluru, I don’t think you get that anywhere in the world,” he said.

The co-founder of Zerodha also disclosed that he frequently meets with billionaire Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, executive chairman of Biocon, and other business leaders in Bengaluru to brainstorm ideas for making the city “cooler.”

Planting 10,000 cherry blossom trees in the city’s center is one of the projects he mentioned. “We are constantly working on projects to… how do we make Bangalore cooler in actual and from a narrative standpoint,” he remarked.
