For Bengalureans, When Chai Met Toast is more than just a band—it’s an emotion. Known for their lively indie-folk sound, the Kerala-based group has long been a part of the city’s thriving music culture. This weekend, as India Cocktail Week (ICW) took over Bengaluru, the band joined in with fresh music and electrifying energy.

Calling Bengaluru their “second home,” guitarist Achyuth Jaigopal reminisced about their early days. “This is where we grew up as a band, playing our first shows,” he shared. With hits like Khoj, Yellow Paper Daisy, and Fireflies, the city’s crowd has always embraced their music.

ICW holds a special place for the band, having performed at its Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune editions. This time, however, fans got a special treat—an exclusive live performance of an unreleased song. “We’ve played it only once before, back in Bengaluru,” said lead vocalist Ashwin Gopakumar, keeping the title under wraps.

Beyond music, the city has played a personal role in their journey. “Bengaluru has been part of our love stories, our muses, and our growth,” Gopakumar reflected. As a tradition, before stepping on stage, the band shares a group hug—a ritual of positivity, backed by their trusted crew.

From heartwarming melodies to electrifying performances, Bengaluru’s love for When Chai Met Toast remains stronger than ever.
