Bengaluru: The Budget Session of the state assembly has turned out to be dramatic. Several coalition MLAs remained absent, causing a major headache to the ruling coalition government. Responding to the issue, Speaker Ramesh Kumar has said that he is willing to accept the resignation of even 40 MLAs, in case they tender their resignations.
Addressing reporters in Kolar, the Speaker said that nobody has so far tried to contact the MLAs who remained absent at the session and that he is unaware of the next action of the MLAs. “I am nobody to initiate action against the MLAs who opted to remain absent at the session,” he said adding that his job is to take a call on the resignations tendered by the MLA and if a need arises he will accept the resignation of not just four, but even forty MLAs.
