Bengaluru: Though the state Congress had requested elections in two phases, Karnataka Pradesha Congress Committee (KPCC) has welcomed the decision of conducting the state Assembly elections in a single phase on May 12.
Addressing the media after the Chief Election Commission’s (CEC) declaration here, KPCC President Dr. G Parameshwar said, “We requested to conduct the poll in two phases, but the CEC has decided to conduct it in a single phase. We were in power over the past 5 years. We have confidence of coming to power again on our own strength.”
“We will release the final list of candidates for all 224 constituencies by April 15,” Parameshwar said.
