Bengaluru: State BJP chief BV Vijayendra has commented regarding the possibility of Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja’s arrest in connection with the FIR registered against him for allegedly threatening cops and staging a protest without obtaining permission. Vijayendra said his party would not tolerate the atrocities. He condemned the police department’s effort to arrest the MLA.
He said he saw the speech of the MLA and spoke with him also. But the police are trying to hide some facts, he alleged.
The MLA, while speaking, charged with emotions and uttered a few words which he should not have, and he also understands that. But that does not mean that the BJP, its cadre, leaders would continue to suffer the atrocities. If the MLA is arrested, the state government would only be responsible for whatever happens, he warned.
