Bengaluru: JDS state president H Vishwanath has stated that personal relations should not be dragged into politics and that action will be taken against Mandya MP L R Shivarame Gowda for making Sumalatha’s caste an issue.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Vishwanath stated that the fact is that Sumalatha is the wife of late actor and politician M H Ambareesh and Mandya’s daughter-in-law. “Personal relations are sacred. So, it should not be used as an election issue. I will initiate action against Gowda,” he said.
Vishwanath also stated that former DCM K S Eshwarappa’s statement against the Chief Minister and Muslims are in very bad taste. “I wish he will change,” he said.
He also stated that when PWD minister H D Revanna made a statement against Sumalatha, he had apologised.
