Wipro employee dies trying to deboard moving train in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A software engineer died on Thursday, January 2, after he came under a moving train while trying to deboard at K R Puram Railway Station in the city.

Kiran Kumar (38) who was an employee of software company Wipro, died on the spot. The police officials at Cantonment Railway Station, who rushed to the spot confirmed his death.

The deceased was travelling to Bengaluru from Chennai in the Chennai Mail when the tragic incident occurred. He tried to deboard the moving train at K R Puram Railway Station.

Satyappa Mukkanavar, sub-inspector at Cantonment Railway Police Station, said, “There is no stop at K R Puram but the locopilot slows the train down while nearing the station because there are chances of people crossing the track. He has tried to alight from the moving train and he has slipped and fallen down in the gap between the platform and track. His leg was bleeding heavily and he died immediately.”

Kiran who hails from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh was a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar in Bengaluru. He had recently returned to India from Zurich in Switzerland.

The accident occured when he was returning to Bengaluru after visiting his hometown to see his 3 months old son.
