Ramanagara: Scenes of people being tied and beaten up usually pop up in North Indian states, however, this time, the incident occurred in Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s own district.

In a huge embarrassment to the CM, a woman was tied to an electric pole and beaten in Kodigehalli under the Tavarakere police limits of the Ramanagara district. A video of the incident has gone viral

The woman has been identified as Rajamani, a resident of Kollegal who allegedly cheated the locals to the tune of Rs 50,000.

According to sources, Rajamani cheated the locals through a chit fund and had been absconding for many months. “She returned to the village on Thursday and the locals assaulted her after tieing her to an electric pole. The incident was recorded by a local resident. The police rushed to the spot after the video went viral,” stated sources.

The police have launched an investigation into the case.
