Bengaluru: Superstars in the South manage to have fans who are ready to go to any extent for their screen Gods and one act that fans do for their heroes is to anoint the life-size images of the stars with milk.
However, in Bengaluru, some women came together to do the same, but this time, instead of a cine star, it was a super cop, who won their appreciation through his stern action against illegal businesses.
CCB ADGP Alok Kumar has cracked his whip on illegal gambling dens, clubs and recreation centres in the city. Close on the heels of his action, several women congregated to his office, rolled out his photograph on a tree and expressed their appreciation by anointing his photograph with litres of milk.
The women said that they could not meet the ADGP in person, but have requested an appointment. On meeting him in person, they said they would congratulate him and tell him that he should continue the great work.
Over the last two days, raids have been conducted in Majestic, Chikkapete. Balepete and other areas and the cops seized cash worth Rs 38 lakhs, money counting machines. Over 150 persons including 26 club owners have been arrested.
