Bengaluru: A special team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (north) Anand S. Badiger grilled N R Santosh, personal assistant of BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa for nearly eight hours.

The prime suspect in the attempt to kidnap Vinay, the personal assistant of K.S. Eshwarappa, the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, has admitted to being acquainted with Rajendra Urs, who led the attempt. The sources said Santosh, accompanied by his lawyer, replied to 72 questions.

On Thursday, he went to the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Malleswaram sub-division) with his advocate. Initially, he denied knowing Rajendra Urs, sources said. “However, when we showed details of calls and photographs, he admitted to knowing him personally,” a source said.
Santhosh had sought anticipatory bail after being summoned for questioning by the police.

Meanwhile, the police are searching for a rowdy, who is suspected of being part of the failed bid on Vinay in May this year.
