Yettinahole drinking water project nearing completion

Bengaluru: If all goes well then the Yettinahole drinking water project will be ready by 2022-23.

Minister for Water Resources DK Shivakumar said that the lift work was undertaken in Phase I of the project is nearing completion and trial run has been planned in 2019.

This, he informed in a written reply to the questions posed by JDS MLA MV Veerabhadraiah and BJP MLA S R Vishwanath about the status of the project.

The minister has said that 0.80 tmc water will be flown to Hesaraghatta lake under the Yettinahole project during 2022-23.

A total of five packages were started in 2014 and a sum of Rs 3,627.74 cr has been released so far. The entire project proposes to release 8.967 tmc to Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Bengaluru rural, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Hasan, Chikkamagaluru district covering 527 lakes for minor irrigation.
