Bengaluru: Teenagers Manoj M, Mehtab Khan and Rohit C.M. have inspired people around Sahakaranagar CQAL Layout by cleaning the park in the area.
The three students often visit the park and saddened by the condition of it, they decided to take action. They started out early in the morning with gloves and upon seeing them, community people also joined in to help them.
“We regularly visit the park and have often noticed that there are no dustbins and trash can be seen everywhere. Then a random thought came to our minds that we could just help to make the situation better,” said Mehtab Khan.
Two of the trio are from RT Nagar and one from Sahakaranagar and they are students of BBA & BCom from Sindhi College, Kempapura and Sesadaripuram, Yelahanka.
“They collected three bags full of litter by themselves. This was very nice of them and I am totally impressed by these youngsters,” said Alphonse Kurien, Chairman of Lions Blood Line, who saw these boys collecting the waste.
Mehtab further said that they have contacted the BBMP personnel and informed them of the lack of dustbins in the area. “They assured us that proper waste management plans will be brought about along with renovating the park,” he said.
The BBMP personnel commended the boys on their efforts, as it brought a lot awareness among the people.
