Following his recent election loss, YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been making frequent trips between Bengaluru and Vijayawada. Over the past 40 days, he has visited Bengaluru Palace four times, a significant increase compared to his past visits, which were rare during his tenure in power. This change has sparked considerable discussion in both media and political circles.
The shift in Jagan’s residence preferences has raised eyebrows, particularly his decision to stay in Bengaluru with his wife Bharathi Reddy, while neglecting his former residence at the Lotus Pond in Hyderabad. Speculation surrounds this move, with many wondering why Jagan has moved away from his previously permanent residence.
Reliable sources suggest that Jagan’s frequent visits to Bengaluru are primarily due to ongoing family tensions with his sister, Sharmila Reddy, who currently resides at the Lotus Pond. Sharmila, the AP Congress chief, has been engaged in a prolonged feud with Jagan, reportedly over property disputes. The Lotus Pond, constructed during their father Rajasekhar Reddy’s lifetime, is at the heart of their conflict.
It is believed that Sharmila is determined to keep the Lotus Pond, while Jagan refuses to vacate the property. Their mother, YS Vijayamma, is reportedly living with Sharmila’s family. This family dispute seems to be a driving factor behind Jagan’s decision to stay in Bengaluru Palace instead of Hyderabad, with little chance for reconciliation in the near future.
