A Zepto delivery agent allegedly assaulted a customer after a dispute over an address discrepancy in Bengaluru’s Basaveshwaranagar on May 21. The altercation, caught on CCTV, has sparked public concern and a police investigation.

The delivery person, identified as Vishnuvardhan, reportedly scolded the customer’s sister-in-law, accusing her of giving an incorrect location. When the customer, Shashank, stepped in to question the delivery executive’s tone, the situation escalated. Vishnuvardhan is said to have verbally abused and physically attacked him.

Security footage shows the delivery agent striking Shashank multiple times, while two women tried to break up the fight.

Following the incident, law enforcement authorities have issued a formal notice to Zepto, seeking details about the accused and the reported assault. Investigations are ongoing.

Shashank explained that the order had been placed by his wife. When his sister-in-law went to receive the package, the delivery agent allegedly began shouting about the address issue. On confronting him, Shashank was punched in the face.

He revealed that the injuries sustained required a CT scan, and doctors later confirmed a fracture below his eye. If the injury doesn’t improve within a week, surgery may be necessary.

A police case has been registered under sections 115(2), 126(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Shashank shared the video to raise awareness and caution others against similar experiences.
