Bengaluru: The city police permitted e-tailers to deliver groceries, medicines and other essentials with permission, a top official said on Thursday.

“Online delivery services such as Zomato, Flipkart, Amazon, Swiggy and Grofers shall be allowed to operate,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao ordered.

He published an exhaustive list of e-commerce players, which also includes Shadowfax, Peelwater, Snapzo, Shop G, Towness and others.

All the online platforms and apps have to obtain passes for their delivery personnel and vehicles from any of the eight Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) offices in the city.

Divya Sara Thomas, Deputy Commissioner of Police, City Armed Reserve Police, is the in-charge of online services in Benglauru.

On Wednesday evening, Rao met with 300 representatives from the e-commerce industry.
