Bidadi (Ramanagar): In connection with the attempted murder of lawyer Vijayakumar near Nalligudde Lake on Ganakal Road, the Bidadi police have apprehended Chandrasekhar, also known as Mata (27), from Bhadrapur village, and Somashekhar, known as Soma (21), from Tavarekere, Bangalore.

The police recovered 53 grams of Mangalya Sara and three two-wheelers used in the crime, valued at ₹6 lakh. On July 20, Vijayakumar, a Kakaramanahalli resident, was riding his bike when he advised the two accused, who were speeding on a scooter, to slow down. Infuriated, the accused verbally abused him, then attacked him with pepper spray, and subsequently stabbed him in the chest and shoulder with a dagger.

A complaint filed by another lawyer led to the registration of the case and the arrest of both suspects, who were found hiding in separate locations. Chandrasekhar, a driver with a long criminal history, has numerous cases against him, including murder attempts and extortion. Authorities are considering charges under the Goonda Act due to his extensive criminal background.

The arrest was led by Inspector Shankar Naik, DySP Dinakara Shetty, along with PSIs Devaraju and Narasimhamurthy, and other police personnel including Head Constables Srinivas, Anwar Beedi, Vasanth, Narresh, Prajwal, and Constables Saddam, Dhananjaya, Gangadhar, Mahadevaiah, Mahesh, and Giriamma.
