Bidar: Police have served a legal notice to BJP Yuva Morcha president Santosh Biradar after he pasted Pakistan flag stickers on the road at Ambedkar Circle in protest of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, including three from Karnataka.
The act, intended as a condemnation of terrorism, resulted in the flags being run over by vehicles and pedestrians. The Market Police booked Biradar under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and summoned him for questioning on Tuesday.
The incident sparked online political exchanges, with BJP supporters tagging Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on social media. They questioned the alleged inaction against individuals accused of shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans inside Vidhana Soudha, defending Biradar’s actions as a form of protest against an adversary nation.
The case has drawn attention to the boundaries between protest, symbolism, and legality in politically sensitive contexts.
