As captured on CCTV footage, the break-in occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:30 AM. Among the stolen ornaments were a 20g silver chain, two gold necklaces weighing 35g and 30g, a 10g gold chain with a pendant, a 5g gold bracelet, a 15g gold ring, a pair of 10g gold bangles, a 30g silver ring, and a 4g gold ring. The judge and his family were away in Koppal for Ramzan when the crime unfolded.
Upon their return, they were met with a ransacked house. The household help first noticed the forced-open front door, with belongings strewn across the floor. The judicial quarters, located in the heart of Bidar, are surrounded by hospitals, commercial hubs, and government officials’ residences, making the burglary even more concerning.
Expressing shock, the judge remarked that the incident highlights how even those in judicial positions are not immune to crime. The Bidar New Town Police have launched an investigation into the case.
