Four-State Police Hunt Bidar ATM Heist Suspects
Police forces from four states are intensifying efforts to apprehend the elusive suspects behind the Bidar ATM heist. The robbers’ evasion tactics, including avoiding mobile phones and frequently changing their appearances, have complicated the investigation. Authorities are relying on CCTV footage and human intelligence to track them down.
The suspects, hailing from Hajipur in Bihar, used fake documents and phone numbers to stay in multiple hotels while traveling from their hometown to Bidar. “Their professional approach and precautionary measures are typical of seasoned criminals. We have solid leads and are confident they will be caught soon,” sources told TOI.
Trail of Crime
The suspects allegedly killed two individuals at an ATM in Bihar, stealing ₹87 lakh, before traveling 1,500 kilometers to Hyderabad on January 16. After a failed attempt to attack a bus travel agent’s staff in Afzalgunj, the robbers crossed into Telangana. They have been using stolen cash to fund their escape, further complicating tracking efforts.
Investigation Progress
Police confirmed the suspects’ involvement after visiting their residence in Hajipur. The bike used in the Bidar heist was recovered at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in Hyderabad, which helped identify the culprits. Officials, however, remain tight-lipped about further developments to avoid compromising the investigation.
