In a chilling act of domestic violence, a 35-year-old man named Ankush allegedly murdered his wife Nirmala (32) in Bhopalgad village of Kamalnagar taluk, Bidar district, on Wednesday morning. The attack is believed to have stemmed from suspicions of her involvement in an extramarital affair.
According to police, the couple had been experiencing frequent arguments in recent days. Amid growing tensions, Nirmala had temporarily moved back to her maternal home in Belakuni village. However, she returned to live with Ankush shortly before the tragedy occurred.
On the morning of the incident, Ankush is accused of attacking Nirmala with a deadly weapon, fatally hacking her in a fit of rage and suspicion over her fidelity.
The Kamalnagar Police have registered a case and begun a detailed investigation. Authorities are collecting evidence and questioning those close to the couple to understand the full background behind the crime.
The brutal killing has left the local community shocked, highlighting once again the dire consequences of unchecked domestic conflict and the urgent need for better mechanisms to address family disputes.
