BJP Accuses Congress of Overspending on Mysore Convention
Mysuru: BJP state in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal has criticized the Congress party for allegedly spending Rs 25 crore on a recent convention in Mysore. Speaking at a BJP event at the Maharaja College ground, Agarwal claimed that attendees were paid Rs 1,000 each to participate in the Congress rally on Friday.
Agarwal suggested that the hefty expenditure was a reaction to the BJP’s successful padayatra, which has been gaining traction statewide. He accused the Congress of using ill-gotten funds for the convention, calling it a “loot rally” in contrast to the BJP’s “Janata rally.” Agarwal reiterated the BJP-JD(S) alliance’s commitment to challenging Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, declaring, “The battle has just begun.”
Additionally, Agarwal criticized Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, alleging that his wealth has significantly increased since entering politics. He questioned Shivakumar’s financial history, accusing him of accumulating wealth through corrupt practices. The BJP’s remarks have further escalated the political tensions between the BJP and Congress in Karnataka, with each side accusing the other of corruption and mismanagement.
