Boys Hung Upside Down, Forced to Inhale Smoke for Stealing Watch

In a disturbing incident in Pandhurna district, two 14-year-old boys were subjected to severe punishment after being accused of stealing a watch. The event unfolded on October 31 and gained attention when a video of the ordeal went viral on Sunday.

The boys had gone to a neighbor’s house to repay a loan for curd but reportedly took a watch without permission. Realizing their mistake, they returned the watch discreetly. However, two villagers, Nikhil Kalambe and Surendra Bawankar, caught them in the act, took them to a tractor garage, and brutally interrogated them. They hung the boys upside down, assaulted them, and forced them to inhale chilli smoke.

Initially, the boys did not disclose the incident to their families. However, once the video, filmed by one of the perpetrators, circulated on WhatsApp and reached the father of one of the boys, he confronted his son, who then shared the full story. The father reported the incident to the police, leading to the detention of Kalambe, Bawankar, and another suspect. The police have initiated an investigation under several sections of the BNS Act.
