The villagers complained of vomiting and diarrhea. The cause is suspected to be contaminated drinking water.

Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag visited the affected village today to assess the situation. She confirmed that many of those who fell ill have already recovered. However, she advised villagers not to panic and to use water supplied by tankers for the next week due to disruptions in the regular Cauvery water supply caused by ongoing road development.
