NANJANGUD: A tragic incident occurred on the Chamarajanagar Bypass Road yesterday morning, resulting in the death of a 75-year-old woman. The deceased, Parvathamma, wife of Annaiah, was a resident of Medar Street in Nanjangud town.
At approximately 6 am, Parvathamma was crossing the road when a KSRTC bus, traveling from Chamarajanagar, struck her. She sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Nanjangud Traffic Sub-Inspector Siddaraju and his team promptly arrived at the scene, conducted a mahazar, and registered a case. The body was transported to Nanjangud General Hospital for a post-mortem before being handed over to her family.
The police have seized the KSRTC bus and taken the driver into custody as part of their ongoing investigation.
