Private Bus Overturns in Chamarajanagar: One Dead, 70 Injured

Chamarajanagar: A tragic accident occurred near Mandalli, Hanur taluk, where a private bus toppled, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to 70 others.

Details of the Incident:

🔹 The deceased, Naveen (30), a cleaner from Doddinduvadi village, was trapped under the bus and died on the spot.
🔹 The bus was carrying over 70 passengers from Shagya village, returning from an engagement ceremony in Haniyuru village, Kanakapura taluk.
🔹 The accident happened at a sharp curve near Kothanuru-Mandalli, as the driver lost control of the vehicle.
🔹 Sunil, another passenger, suffered severe leg injuries.

Rescue Operations:

🔹 Locals rushed to the spot and used an excavator to lift the overturned bus, helping trapped passengers.
🔹 The injured were shifted to Holycross Hospital and Kollegal Government Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while local residents have urged officials to improve road safety measures in the region.
