Bagepalli Village Shaken by Brief, Powerful Earthquake

Bagepalli

Residents of Agatmadaka village in Patapallya hobli, Bagepalli taluk, were startled on Sunday morning when a brief but powerful earthquake rocked their homes. At approximately 7:30 AM, the village was shaken by tremors and a loud noise that caused utensils and household items to fall to the ground.

According to A. N. Sreeramappa, a resident of Agatmadaka village, the earthquake lasted only a few seconds but left the villagers in a state of panic. “We heard a loud noise followed by trembling,” Sreeramappa said in an interview with ‘Prajavani’. “The impact was so strong that we had no choice but to leave our homes.”

Although the earthquake was confined to Agatmadaka, residents expressed deep dissatisfaction with the authorities for not conducting inspections or providing assistance during this alarming incident. The concerned taluk administration, panchayat, and police were criticized for their lack of response despite being aware of the residents’ anxiety.

As villagers continue to recover from this unexpected natural event, concerns about future earthquakes remain among community members. It is hoped that appropriate measures will be taken by local authorities to address these concerns and ensure the safety and well-being of residents in similar situations.
