BJP Leads in Chikkaballapur Municipal Polls, Results Await High Court Decision

The election for the president and vice president of the Chikkaballapur municipal council has taken an interesting turn. Although BJP candidates Gajendra and J. Nagaraj received the most votes, the results have not been officially announced due to a pending case before the High Court.

The Election Authority is awaiting the court’s decision regarding the inclusion of two Legislative Council members in the voter list. The voting proceedings will be submitted to the High Court, which will determine when to announce the results, according to Ashwin Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer and Election Officer.

Here are the vote counts:

• BJP: Gajendra (President) – 19 votes, J. Nagaraj (Vice President) – 20 votes
• Congress : Ambarish (President) – 16 votes, Meenakshi Venkatesh (Vice President) – 15 votes

Notably, six Congress members supported the BJP candidates. BJP leaders, led by Dr. K. Sudhakar, celebrated their lead, but the official results remain pending until the High Court’s decision.
