Chikkamagaluru: Members of BJP Yuva Morcha staged a distinctive protest against the rising prices of diesel and petrol by adorning flowers behind their ears and holding coconut shells at Azad Park Circle. Led by MLC C T Ravi, the protest saw slogans raised against the state government’s policies.
MLC C T Ravi criticized the state government for hiking fuel prices despite the central government’s efforts to reduce them. He highlighted increases in excise duties and various fees under the current administration, labeling it a burden on the people.
“The Congress-led government has failed to fulfill its promises and has resorted to raising prices. If they do not act to lower fuel prices, we will mobilize a people’s movement against them,” Ravi asserted.
Santosh Kotian, BJP Yuva Morcha district President, accused the government of implementing anti-people policies and likened their promises to symbolic gestures like coconut shells and “chombu.”
The protest underscored growing dissatisfaction with economic policies and called for immediate relief from escalating fuel costs.
