Dosa is a staple dish in South India, commonly enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Vijayapura City of Chikmagalur (Karnataka), a shop named Dosa Adda, owned by Rakesh, offers an impressive 30 varieties of dosa, catering to diverse tastes. Known locally as Dosa Rakesh, he has been running this popular food street shop for nearly four years.

Every evening, customers flock to Dosa Adda to indulge in its unique offerings, which include Masala Dosa, Butter Dosa, Paneer Dosa, Ghee Dosa, Pav Bhaji Dosa, Szechuan Dosa, and many more. Among these, the Pizza Dosa stands out, blending Italian and South Indian flavors, and has become the shop’s top seller.

Rakesh’s Pizza Dosa is prepared quickly, following a process similar to making masala dosas but without the potato filling. In a conversation with Local18, Rakesh demonstrated the recipe. He starts by pouring dosa batter on a pan, followed by a mix of Szechuan, mayonnaise, and red chutney, which he mixes with a spatula. He then adds grated cheese and corn. After a short cooking time, the pizza dosa is ready to be served.

Dosa Adda offers three varieties of pizza dosa: Normal, Paneer, and Szechuan, each priced at Rs 120. The weekends see a significant surge in customers eager to try this unique dish.
