A lone tusker was sighted near Ganapati Katte along NH 166, the highway linking the city to Shringeri via the S K Border. The elephant briefly blocked the road, sparking concern among drivers and riders.
Despite the initial alarm, the tusker posed no threat to people or vehicles. After a short while, it moved back into the forest. Passengers in a passing car managed to capture a video of the tusker in the evening, showing it carrying a tree branch as it calmly crossed the road before disappearing into the woods.
