Deputy Commissioner Meena Nagaraj has sanctioned financial incentives for Naxalites who have renounced violence and integrated into society. The decision followed a meeting of the District Rehabilitation Committee and the Left-wing Extremists Surrender Committee.
According to the order, four individuals categorized under ‘A’—Mundagaru Latha, Sundari Kuthluru, Vanajakshi Balehole, and Mareppa Aaroli—will each receive ₹7.5 lakh as part of the incentive scheme. Meanwhile, K Vasanth and Jisha, who hail from other states, have been granted ₹4 lakh each.
In the first phase, ₹3 lakh will be disbursed to each recipient, with the remaining amount to be distributed in two subsequent phases. The initiative aims to support former Naxalites in rebuilding their lives and reintegrating into the mainstream.
This decision underscores the district’s commitment to rehabilitation efforts, offering a fresh start for those who choose peace over conflict.
