A young couple from Bengaluru was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in Dasarahalli village, Chikkamagaluru taluk, prompting an intense police investigation.

The deceased man, Madhu, a car driver from Bhadravati, Shivamogga, had been residing in a rented home next to Poornima, a private school teacher in Magadi, for several years. Their families were well-acquainted, with Madhu even playing a significant role in Poornima’s sister’s wedding. Poornima, in turn, had visited Madhu’s home and maintained a close relationship with his family.

On Wednesday, Madhu picked up Poornima after school, offering to drop her at a village 20 km away. Instead, he drove her to Chikkamagaluru, where events took a dark turn. Poornima was later found dead with strangulation marks on her neck, suggesting murder. Whether she was killed en route or after reaching Chikkamagaluru remains uncertain.

Following the alleged murder, Madhu was seen wandering in a coffee plantation before parking the car a kilometer from the main road. Using Poornima’s veil, he reportedly hanged himself from a tree.

Investigators suspect Poornima rejected Madhu’s romantic advances, leading to the tragic sequence of events. However, police are examining multiple angles, including the exact location of her murder, the nature of her injuries, and the circumstances surrounding Madhu’s death. Both families remain in deep grief as authorities probe the chilling case.
