The Chitradurga police have apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals working in local garment factories for residing in the town with fake identification. Deputy Superintendent of Police B. Dinakar reported that the arrests followed a raid on Monday targeting suspected illegal immigrants.

Out of 15 individuals detained, six were found to possess fraudulent Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, labor cards, bank accounts, and a passport. Investigations revealed that they had entered India illegally through West Bengal years ago and had been using forged identities to secure work across multiple states. The suspects, aged between 22 and 29, were identified as Sheikh Shaipur Rahman, Muhammad Suman Ali, Mazarul, Azizul Sheikh, Muhammad Saqib Sikdar, and Sanwar Hussain.

Police conducted searches at their residences in Chitradurga and seized various fake documents. “These individuals intended to settle in India permanently using forged credentials,” Dinakar explained.

The accused have been handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Bengaluru for deportation and further legal proceedings. This case highlights concerns over the misuse of identification systems and emphasizes the need for stricter verification processes.
