In a heartbreaking incident late Friday night, four individuals lost their lives and one person was seriously hurt following a violent crash between a car and a tractor near Holalkere in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district.
The vehicle, which was travelling in the direction of Shivamogga, smashed head-on into a tractor, resulting in an immediate and deadly impact. The victims were all residents of Arenahalli village, a small rural community now mourning a sudden and devastating loss.
The deceased have been named as Kavya, Gangamma, Hansika, and Manaswini, all of whom were inside the car at the time of the accident. The only survivor, Yashwant, sustained multiple injuries and is currently receiving treatment. His condition remains under observation.
Soon after the mishap, Chitradurga police personnel reached the location, carried out an initial inspection, and registered a case under relevant sections of the law. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the precise cause and sequence of events that led to the fatal encounter.
While more information is awaited, the accident has once again brought attention to rising road safety concerns, especially involving night travel on rural highways. Locals are demanding stricter regulation of slow-moving agricultural vehicles and better visibility measures to prevent such tragedies.
