Vijayapura: Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, during his visit to Almatti on last Saturday August 21 had assured to supply 25,000 doses of Covid vaccine every day to Vijayapura District, has now nearly met the promise.
Though he had assured to supply 25,000 doses, according to the officials, the district has been receiving 20,000 doses every day from August 22 itself.
It may be noted that duringhis visit to Almatti dam to offer ‘Bagina’ to Krishna River, the officials of Vijayapura and Bagalkot had requested him to augment the supply of vaccine doses from 15,000/day to 25,000 as the district needs it for meeting the demands.
Considering the demand, the CM announced that he will direct the officials to supply adequate doses.
“After going back to Bengaluru, I will take stock of the situation and will direct the officials to supply 25,000 doses every day to both districts,” he had said.
Deputy Commissioner, P. Sunil Kumar said that the district started receiving 20,000 doses every day from the next day of CM’s visit.
Admitting that the district administration is not receiving the promised quantity of doses, he made it clear that presently, even 20,000 doses are enough to meet the daily demand of doses.
