Karwar: Corona has hit a double century in the Uttara Kannada district for the first time. A total of 213 corona cases were confirmed, making it the highest number of single-day cases in the district.
The highest number of 52 cases were detected in the city, while 48 cases were reported in Sirsi. Yallapore 43, Kumta 16, Siddapur 13, Ankola and Honnavar each had 11 cases each.
The total number of infected persons in the district has reached 5761, out of which 4201 have already been cured. There are 1504 active cases out of which 864 are being treated in various COVID wards and 640 are being treated at home isolation. COVID has so far claimed 56 lives in the district.
