Karwar: State revenue minister R Ashok, on Wednesday, January 22, slammed former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy for his allegation that the Mangaluru airport bomb scare was a “mock drill” orchestrated by the Mangaluru City Police.

Speaking to the media after the foundation stone laying ceremony for the all-new Mini Vidhana Soudha in Junta, the minister hit out and HDK and said, “It doesn’t hold good for a person who has served as CM of the state to demoralize the police. It is really funny for HDK to have said that the incident was a ‘mock demonstration’ by the police. It is unethical to blindly blame the police. Because of his statement, in the future, the Janata Dal (Secular) party will also be called as a ‘mock party’. He is making light of the legal system for the sake of votes and that is condemnable.”

“Whoever placed the bomb at MIA is a terrorist and is involved in terror activities,” he added.

Criticizing Karnataka Legislative Assembly Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah, he said, “Siddaramaiah is saying that even the Muslims who come from Bangladesh shall be given Indian citizenship. The whole world knows how the Congress party has grabbed the minority vote bank. From the past 30 years, Bangladeshi immigrants are illegally entering the country. The Congress party has built sheds, given ration cards and every other facility to them. Is he trying to transform the country into ‘Bangla-Pakistan’? India will remain as India and the illegal immigrants will not be allowed to remain here.”
