Karawar: Union Fisheries Minister Parshottam Rupala has said that the Central Government has taken steps from the primary stage for the all-round development of marine fisheries and fishermen.

He was speaking after inaugurating the fourth phase of Sagar Parikrama 2023, organised in association with the Central and State Governments, at the Rangamandira in the City. “This is why the Government has implemented the Blue Revolution and announced a grant of Rs. 6,000 Crore. The Prime Minister has implemented the Prime Minister’s Matsya Sampada Yojana. Similarly, the Kisan Credit Card Scheme has also been implemented,” he said.

“Earlier, the facility of this scheme was distributed only to farmers. Today they are trying to extend to fisheries and take them on the path of fisheries development. Through a scheme, fishermen can avail loans ranging from Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 1.5 Lakh from banks without any security,” he said.
