Karwar: A 50-year-old man drowned at Sathodi Waterfall in Yallapur Taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Potul Ram Rao (50), a resident of Hubballi. He was employed with the railways in Hubballi division.
According to sources, Rao came to Yallapur with his family and friends for a holiday on Sunday December 25. The incident happened when he ventured into the water to go swimming. Though his friends tried to save him, the water current washed him away.
His body was recovered on the morning of Monday December 26.
