Karwar: Four members of a family were brutally hacked to death at Gaduvalli in Bhatkala Taluk of the District on Friday February 24.

The deceased have been identified as Shambhu Bhatta (68), his wife Mahadevi Bhatta (54), their son Rajeev Bhatta (34) and daughter-in-law Kusuma (30).

In the afternoon, four of them were found dead near their home in Gaduvalli and all of them suffered severe stab wounds on their face, neck and head with a weapon which seems like sword. While the three were lying nearby, Shambhu Bhatta’s body was found lying at a distance.

It is yet to be ascertained whether the killer chased and killed them while they were running away, or if they were hacked to death by those working in the garden.
