Karwar: A Konkan Railway employee died after losing his balance and coming under the Bengaluru-Karwar express train.
The deceased is identified as Surya Shekhar Karanth (48) from Bargi, Kumta. He was working as a tank man in the Konkan Railways. He had come from Kumta to Shirawada on duty. The accident occurred when he was boarding the Bengaluru- Karwar express train back to Kumta after work.
His co-workers pulled the chain and stopped the train immediately. They immediately pulled Karanth from under the wheels of the train and took him to the Karwar district hospital. But he did not respond to treatment and died.
The Karwar rural police station has registered a complaint regarding this incident.
