Karwar: Prominent folk singer and Padma Awardee Sukri Bommagowda, fondly known as “Sukrajji”, has been admitted to the district hospital following complaints of respiratory issues.
District Surgeon, Dr Shivanand Kudtarkar speaking to Prajavani, a Kannada daily, informed that the 83-year-old had a respiratory disorder which had shown up previously.
“The issue has escalated this time. We have done a CT scan and are treating her in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),” he said.
Sukrajji suffered respiratory issues this morning at her residence located in the Badigeri village of the Ankola district. When president of the Janashakthi Vedike, Madhava Nayak received news of her troubles, he immediately made arrangements for an ambulance and rushed her to the hospital.
