Karwar: Rear Admiral Mahesh Singh NM assumed charge as the Flag Officer commanding Karnataka Naval Area on Saturday, March 30.
Mahesh Singh was handed over the charge by Flag Officer Rear Admiral K G Kumar during a ceremonial parade at INS Kadamba Naval Base at Karwar.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Mahesh Singh was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1987 as Navigation and Direction specialist.
He has commissioned the crew of INS Akshay and Jyoti battleships and also commanded missile vessel INS Nirghat during Operation Vijay.
Mahesh Singh NM has also served as the Chief of INS Jalashwa in Mauritius.
